Plot Synopsis
The "Sassy Girl" trend continues 15 years after the 2001 smash hit My Sassy Girl with SBS's historical drama remake of the romantic classic. Yong Pal director Oh Jin Seok relocates the story to the Joseon era, with Joo Won starring as the period version of Kyun Woo and Oh Yeon Seo (Please Come Back, Mister) as a sassy princess. The television adaptation marks Joo Won's first costume drama and also his last drama before enlisting in military service. My Sassy Girl's cast also includes CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin (Temptation), Kim Yoon Hye (Vampire Detective), Jung Da Bin (Flower of Prison), Son Chang Min (Pride and Prejudice) and Yoon Se Ah (Gu Family Book).
Knowledgeable yet cold-hearted Kyun Woo (Joo Won) returns to Joseon after three years of study in Qing China. One night, he saves drunken princess Hye Myung (Oh Yeon Seo), who is in dispute with a cart driver. Growing suspicious that Kyun Woo stole her ring, Hye Myung forces him to help find the ring. Kyun Woo soon becomes the Prince's teacher, and discovers Hye Myung's real identity and the truth behind the deposition of her mother Queen Han.
