Yan Wang Preston (*1976) machte 2013 während eines Langzeitfotoprojektes entlang des Jangtsekiang eine einschneidende Beobachtung: Im kleinen Dorf Xialiu stand ein über 300 Jahre alter Baum in voller Pracht, mitten im Leben einer Dorfgemeinschaft, die zum Zeitpunkt von Yans Besuch dazu angehalten wurde, für den Bau eines Staudamms umzusiedeln. Drei Monate später war von Dorf und Baum nichts mehr zu sehen. Die Bewohner siedelten an den Berg. Und der 70 Tonnen schwere Baum? Er wurde für 10,000 US-Dollar an ein Hotel in der nächstgrößeren Stadt Binchuan verkauft. Seiner Äste und Blätter komplett entledigt, in Plastik bandagiert, fand ihn Yan an dem tatsächlich noch im Rohbau stehenden Hotel vor – wie eine lebendige Skulptur, die sich ihrer neuen Umgebung erst gewahr werden sollte. In China, dem Land, in dem die Städte in die Höhe sprießen, boomt das Transplantationsgeschäft mit der Natur. In der Fotoserie Forest spürt Preston viele weitere entwurzelte Kreaturen inmitten der Betonwüsten auf und hinterfragt unser Gefühl von Heimat nochmals neu.Yan Wang Preston gewann mit Forest den 1. Great home office dividers!
Size: 3-Panel
Needed something to create a home office that would stand on an uneven basement floor. These are the perfect solution! No prying eyes and only took me an hour to put up both sets by myself, pretty easy. They are completely opaque.

Fine Simple Product, Works as Advertised
Size: 3-Panel
Performs as advertised, a simple upright divider. I use it to mark my "office" space when working from home.
Assembly was straightforward and well documented. One person can do it, but a second person can be helpful when sliding the fabric divider pieces onto their poles.
Part quality is fine for the price point. The only mild annoyance is that the upright poles can start getting loose from the metal feet, and need to be retightened occasionally (Allen wrench is included, keep it handy for retightening). It's fairly lightweight and easy to reposition, but the feet are heavy enough to keep it steady once placed.
All in all, a good product. I was pleased enough to buy a second one when my son wanted something to block sunlight from behind his computer desk.

Wobbly and Poor Design

Update: nope! Not worth the money. My cat simply brushed against the divider, and it fell, knocking breakable things over. Not safe!
It serves it's purpose, but...the screws were basically glued to the packaging. It took me longer to get the screws out of the packaging than it did to put it together.
The assembly was easy. I am not mechanically inclined by any means, but the instructions, despite being very hard to read (I have over 40 eyes), were pretty simple.
Structurally, it is very wobbly. I think they should have designed it with a middle rod to keep it more stable. I find that the attachments to the rods are wobbly and should have been screwed rather than popped into an attachment hole without reinforcement. That would have also made the room divider more stable.
I have cats, but the material is easy to clean. I took a damp cloth to it, and it came right off. As far as see-through...I think it does a great job of masking theO other side of the room.. I just wish it was a little longer and closer to the floor stand.
I like that it came with extra parts. It's just a very cheaply made item, and I don't think the price for the item reflects how cheaply it is made, how wobbly and unstable it is, or the poor design.
