-----------

Watch Your Self investigates the paradoxical act of taking oneself into view. The organic form appears as if captured by a scan - a moment of technical measurement that simultaneously reveals how little the self can ever be fully grasped. A fingerprint-like structure at the edge of the image points to the trace of one’s own identity, promising identification while carrying its own inherent ambiguity. The darkness of the image is not merely a backdrop but an epistemic dimension in its own right: it marks what remains withdrawn from any act of self-observation.

Thus a space emerges between control and opacity. The scan promises clarity, yet it touches only the surface; the darkness insists that the self will never become entirely visible. Watch Your Self invites the viewer to inhabit this tension - between the desire to know oneself and the recognition that every form of measurement remains fragmentary.

GREAT READ
Format: Hardcover
I can’t stop thinking about Laws of Love and Logic, a debut novel by Debra Curtis. It’s beautifully written, incredibly heartbreaking, but nevertheless hopeful. It’s definitely not your typical romance novel rather it’s heavily character driven, and thought provoking. The characters feel so real. The way the author writes about the sisters’ relationship will stay with me forever. Also, having grown-up Catholic, I was so inspired to see progressive Catholicism with an emphasis on serving the most vulnerable, as being a foundational part of the sisters’ lives. The story spans decades, opening in the 70s and follows the characters into middle age. If you like books by Elizabeth Strout and Ann Patchett, you’ll love this one.

Highly recommended read!!
Format: Hardcover
My book club read this. It’s a thoughtful and emotional story with believable characters and strong family themes. I especially loved the message of forgiveness, which added real depth to the story. I’m from the area where the book takes place and found the setting and details extremely accurate. I could picture myself in and around it. Loved it and highly recommend. Looking forward to this author’s next book!

A consuming book so enigmatic at times. This book you don’t want to put down for longer than you want to; I was stunned by the brilliant end.
