Im Jahr 1978 kreierte Tissot ein Quarzmodell, das sich durch ein schlankes Gehäuse, schmale Indexe und ein Stahlarmband auszeichnete. Sein für die Zeit typischer breiter, horizontaler Bandanstoss war perfekt in das flache Gehäuse in Tonneau-Form integriert.

Einige Jahre später liess Tissot den Namen PRX eintragen. „PR“ steht dabei für „präzise“ und „robust“. Das „X“ steht für die römische Zahl Zehn und für den Druck von 10 Bar, der einer Tiefe von 100 Metern entspricht, bis zu denen die Uhr wasserdicht bleibt.

2021 präsentierte Tissot die neue PRX als moderne Interpretation des Vorgängermodells.

Diese Ausführung der Tissot PRX besitzt ein blaues Zifferblatt mit Indizes sowie ein schwarzes, strukturiertes Kautschukarmband mit Schnellwechselsystem und Dornschliesse.
