Allein der klangvolle Name weckt bei jedem Aficionado Erinnerungen an die Kindheit und die erste Begegnung mit dem Roman Der Graf von Montecristo  von Alexandre Dumas. Die Namensgleichheit ist kein Zufall, sondern der Tatsache geschuldet, dass der Roman eine der Lieblingslektüren der Vorleser für die torcedores in der Manufaktur H.Upmann war, wo sie ursprünglich handgefertigt wurde. Auf der Suche nach einem gebührenden Namen für die Spitzen-Habanos war man sich also schnell einig.

Seit ihrer Taufe in den 1930er Jahren ist die Montecristo eine Instanz, an der keine andere Habano vorbeikommt. Zumindest für die Liebhaber mittelkräftiger Mischungen. Heutzutage umfasst die Auswahl, die ursprünglich auf ein von No.1 bis 5 bezeichnetes Sortiment beschänkt war, alles was das Herz des Zigarrenrauchers begehrt – von der majestätischen Montecristo A  bis zur kleinen Joyita. Ihnen allen ist der typische Montecristo-Geschmack gemeinsam.

Given myself a couple weeks of consistent use before giving a review. There are a lot of pros to this product which include: moisturizing and stays moisturized all day, made my PIE marks (post acne marks) fade a lot faster. Repairs my skin barrier, especially while using tretinoin nightly, not too thick but thick enough to keep my face hydrated. It does not have a smell. The cons are: slight burn for about 15 seconds but disappears, it pills if I apply too much. It does pill less if I pat it on my face versus rubbing; it does not pill when I apply liquid foundation. I just have to let it dry for 15-20 mins before applying makeup. I found the pros to overpower the cons and will continue to use this product.
