American Gothic'I took [Watson] into this woman's office and there was the American flag, and I stood her up with her mop hanging down, with the American flag hanging down, Grant Wood style, and did this marvelous portrait, which [Roy] Stryker thought was just about the end. 'I took [Watson] into this woman's office and there was the American flag, and I stood her up with her mop hanging down, with the American flag hanging down, Grant Wood style, and did this marvelous portrait, which [Roy] Stryker thought was just about the end. He said, "My God, this can't be published, but it's a start." ' - Gordon Parks, 1964 American Gothic , Gordon Parks' 1942 portrait of government worker Ella Watson, is among the most celebrated photographs of the twentieth century. Created as part of an extensive collaboration between the photographer and his subject, it is at once a record of one woman's position within the racial, professional and economic hierarchies that stratified the nation's capital and Parks' visual reckoning with the realities of living in racially segregated Washington, D.C. Through his work with Watson-a custodian in the government building where he worked-Parks composed an intimate portrait of Black life by focusing on everyday activities, from work routines to family meals and church services. The resulting photographs trace a remarkably intimate portrait of Watson as a multidimensional figure, cherished by her community and vitally important within the civic sphere. American Gothic - Gordon Parks and Ella Watson provides a comprehensive overview of this pivotal series of photographs, including more than 50 images, some never published before, and additional archival material.

A bit pricey, but then again, our new inflated economy
Nite Ize makes great products. I especially like the extended time the ball stays lit. Especially for those times the dog decides not to retrieve and you're searching the ground for the ball in the dark. It's heavy. Good for power chewers. Not a lot of bounce but then again the light function is the primary goal.

Stopped working the 2nd day
I realize I am the minority. This ball has great reviews. So it has to just be my bad luck. But it worked great the 1st day. Had some problems with getting it to turn on the next day. After that it never came on again. I bought new batteries and put 2 new batteries in it. It still did not light up. Other than that, it’s great and seems durable. I just can’t get the lights to work on it.

Very durable and my dog loves it.
This is a great ball for the dog. It is very durable and has led light inside. Easy for me to throw and great for playing with my dog. No noise just the lights. What a great value. Even the smaller dogs can play with this one. Smaller and lighter .

Sturdy For Chewers; Weeks Later Still Lights Up
This item is fantastic. We have two rottweilers and these two tou balls have stood the test of time. Weeks later and it STILL lights up! No other ball has survived our dogs. I highly recommend this item to anyone. Our dogs love the lights.
