Der Vintage Port 1999 ist ein überlegener Wein. Sie erhalten hier einen ausgewogenen, leicht süßlichen und kräftigen Wein, ohne alkoholisch zu wirken, mit perfekter Säure. Hier ist eine hochwertige Portweinqualität garantiert, die mit großer Finesse hergestellt wurde.

Die Familie Symington ist seit fünf Generationen direkt in der Portweinherstellung tätig, seit 1882, als der erste Symington – Andrew James – von Schottland nach Portugal zog, um für Grahams zu arbeiten. Die Familie kaufte 1989 Quinta do Vesuvio mit dem Ziel, hervorragende Vintage-Weine zu erzeugen, die ursprünglich ausschließlich auf Vintage Port fokussiert waren und später um Douro DOC Port und Douro DOC erweitert wurden. Die Trauben werden sehr traditionell von Hand getreten, und der Most wird anschließend in Edelstahltanks vergoren. Der Wein reift zwei Jahre in Eichenfässern, bevor er abgefüllt und zum Verkauf freigegeben wird. Heute sind 141 der 325 Hektar mit Reben bepflanzt, deren Alter zwischen 3 und 40 Jahren variiert. Alle Parzellen haben selbstverständlich die attraktive A-Klassifikation, die Qualität und Geschmack sichert.

Dieser köstliche Portwein zeigt eine tief rubinrote Farbe, hergestellt aus den besten Jahrgängen der Quinta seit 1996. Er enthält Aromen von reifen Beeren wie Heidelbeeren und Brombeeren. Zudem prägen starke Noten von Veilchen und schwarzen Kirschen die Nase, gefolgt von reifer Frucht und bittersüßer Schokolade im Abgang. Der Geschmack ist sehr konzentriert und intensiv mit mittlerer Süße.

Wir empfehlen, diesen Portwein bei einer Temperatur von 12°C zu servieren. Er sollte jedoch niemals direkt aus dem Kühlschrank serviert werden, sondern etwas Zeit zum Atmen erhalten, damit Duft, Geschmack und Aromen voll zur Geltung kommen. Er passt hervorragend zu süßen Speisen wie Desserts, aber auch zu würzigen Gerichten und Käse – sowohl milden als auch kräftigen.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
