Die 9. Triennale der Photographie Hamburg 2026, mit dem Titel Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other, möchte ein breites Spektrum fotografischer Stimmen – etablierte und aufstrebende, gefeierte und übersehene – hervorheben und das Potenzial der Fotografie würdigen. Das Ziel des Programms ist es, Normen in Frage zu stellen und sichtbar zu machen, was oft verborgen bleibt. Das fotografische Bild wird auf diese Weise zu einem Raum der Begegnung und der kritischen Reflexion.
Die zwölf Publikationen verschiedener Hamburger Institutionen und Museen, die in dieser Box versammelt sind, verkörpern dementsprechend eine vielschichtige Perspektive auf die Fotografie und loten gleichzeitig das Potenzial gedruckter Formate aus, visuelle Bedeutung auf unkonventionelle Weise zu vermitteln. 

Der künstlerische Leiter der 9. Triennale der Photographie Hamburg 2026 ist Mark Sealy. Der in London lebende Kurator und Autor arbeitet zu Fragen der Dekolonisierung, Repräsentation und kulturellen Gewalt in der Fotografie.  Als Direktor von Autograph ABP (Association of Black Photographers) kuratiert er seit 1991 internationale Ausstellungen, initiiert Residenzprogramme und veröffentlicht wegweisende Publikationen.
Er veröffentlichte die Bücher: Decolonising the Camera: Photography in Racial Times; Photography: Race, Rights and Representation sowie A Lens on Liberation: Photography as Resistance. Mark Sealy promovierte an der Durham University zum Thema Fotografie und kulturelle Gewalt und lehrt als Professor für Rights and Representation am London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.

The 9th Hamburg Photography Triennial 2026, titled Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other, aims to highlight a broad spectrum of photographic voices – established and emerging, celebrated and overlooked – and to celebrate photography’s potential to articulate and evoke emotions, challenge norms, and make visible what often remains hidden. The photographic image becomes, in this way, a space for encounter and critical reflection. 
The twelve publications contained in this box, accordingly, embody a multilayered perspective of photography, while exploring the potential of printed formats to convey visual meaning in not so conventional ways. They share common traits, yet they also differ from one another in their specific themes and physical characteristics.
