Das Champagner- und Sektglas ist für alle Arten von Schaumweinen ausgelegt, von trocken über halbtrocken bis lieblich. Die hohen, schlanken Gläser, aus denen man heute Sekt trink, werden Tulpen genannt. Sie sind nicht nur dekorativ, sondern ihr langer Stiel dient dazu, den perlenden Inhalt kühl zu halten, weil man ihn so nicht mit den Fingern erwärmt.

Dank der langgezogenen Form sprudeln Sekt und Champagner länger im Glas. Es sieht sehr einladend aus, wenn die „Perlen“ das ganze Glas durchströmen.

Zur Geschmacksgruppe, der dieses Glas schmeichelt, gehören Champagner, Cremant, Cava, Sekt und andere trockene (brut) oder halbtrockene (demi sec) Schaumweine sowie der leicht moussierende Asti Spumante.
