Herkunft

Berberteppiche wurden traditionell für den Hausgebrauch geknüpft. Die überwiegend weiblichen KnüpferInnen spielten frei und spontan – ohne Mustervorlagen – mit Formen und Farben und folgten dabei ihren persönlichen Ideen und ihrer individuellen Intuitionen. Das traditionelle Muster marokkanischer Berberteppiche besteht deswegen typischerweise aus geometrischen, teilweise farbenfrohen, abstrakten Formen und Linien auf monochromen Hintergründen. Unsere Furrry Berber sind von den traditionellen marokkanischen Berberteppichen und ihrem hohen Flor inspiriert.

Architekten und Designer wie Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Charles und Ray Eames, Frank Lloyd Wright, Marcel Breuer und Arne Jacobsen schätzten das naive und klare Design der hochfloorigen, marokkanischen Nomadenteppiche. Der kraftvolle, künstlerische Ausdruck hat eine außergewöhnlichen Ausstrahlung und macht Berberteppiche – auch abgesehen von ihrer flauschigen Haptik – einzigartig.

Muster

Das klare, abstrakte Design dieses zeitgenössischen Teppichs spricht Menschen, die schlichte, moderne Inneneinrichtung und Architektur lieben besonders an. Die Designidee für diesen Teppich stammt aus Europa. Ohne an die Regeln traditioneller Teppichmuster gebunden zu sein wurde es für den westlichen Kunst- und Inneneinrichtungsstil entwickelt. Das ist dabei keine ganz neue Entwicklung. Die Wurzeln des europäischen Teppichdesigns gehen zurück auf Art-Deco-Teppiche, die zwischen den späten zwanziger und fünfziger Jahren nach westlichen Vorgaben hergestellt wurden.

Material

Die mit Naturfarben gefärbte und handgesponnene Wolle des flauschigen Flors dieses Berberteppichs erzeugt faszinierende, changierende Muster. Unsere Berberteppiche sind handgeknüpft und halten ein Leben lang. Trotzdem sind die Teppiche durch ihren langen Flor ungewöhnlich weich und flauschig. Beinahe fühlen sich die Berberteppiche wie eine weiche Decke an, die man am Liebsten mit ins Bett nehmen möchte. Der Untergrund (Schuss- und Kettfäden) dieses Furry Berbers besteht aus Schurwolle.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character.
