Bunnahabhain 1968/2019 30th Anniversary + 2 Gläser

Besonderheiten: Anlässlich des 30-jährigen Jubiläums von Signatory Vintage wurde dieser aussergewöhnliche Bunnahabhain Single Malt abgefüllt. Destilliert im Jahr 1968 und in einem Refill Sherry Butt (Fassnummer 12397) über fünf Jahrzehnten gereift, wurde er im Januar 2019 mit einer limitierten Auflage von 323 Flaschen abgefüllt. Jede Flasche wird in einer edlen Holzbox präsentiert und enthält zwei passende Gläser, die das Genusserlebnis vervollständigen.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Einladende Aromen von saftigen Früchten, begleitet von Kräutern und einer subtilen Vanillenote.
  • Gaumen: Vollmundig und ausgewogen, entfaltet sich ein komplexes Geschmacksprofil mit Anklängen von Nüssen, getrockneten Früchten und einer dezenten Süsse.
  • Abgang: Langanhaltend und wärmend, mit einem Hauch von Eiche und maritimen Noten, die an die Küstenlage der Brennerei erinnern.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Bunnahabhain Distillery wurde 1881 gegründet und liegt an der Nordostküste der schottischen Insel Islay. Sie ist bekannt für ihre ungetorften Single Malts, die durch die Reifung in Sherryfässern eine besondere Tiefe und Komplexität erhalten. Signatory Vintage, der unabhängige Abfüller dieses Whiskys, wurde 1988 gegründet und hat sich auf die Abfüllung seltener und alter Whiskys spezialisiert.

As a hairstylist with a very strong focus on men’s hair for over 20 years, I applaud the guys at Highland for what they are doing. Sure you’ll see some reviews talking about how there isn’t enough hold or it’s not even a medium hold when it says it’s strong hold on the package, but you have to understand, when a product is this clean, strong hold isn’t going to feel like the strong hold in the garbage products most of us have used. This is a strong hold, in terms of keeping your best natural look all day. Something you can work into place, then continuously run your hands through all day and it still looks great. The men’s clay from Davines does a wonderful job at this too, but there’s something about the finish of this product that literally brings out such a healthy natural look. Not shiny either and definitely does not give you a wet look out of the shower. If you see that kind of review, the guy most likely has greasy hair, is using cheap conditioner, or perhaps applied too much. Don’t over use this product in your application, you get the best out it. Amazing work Highland, keep it up!

This is great stuff, great hold without being greasy or turning your hair into spikes. No pungent odors. It's noted that it includes pine and sandalwood oil. There's definitely some pine, not getting any sandalwood. Regardless, it isn't a strong scent and that's how it should be. The tin is almost exactly the size of a snuff can. Expensive. But you don't really use much of it at one time.
