The South African artist Jane Alexander has been awarded the lucrative DaimlerChrysler Award for South African Sculpture 2002. According to the jury's reasoning, "Jane Alexander gives shape to the fragility of a multi-cultural society (...). Her sculptures do not ask for acknowledgement; they exist in a no man´s land where the differences between victims and perpetrators are blurred and without meaning." This is the first extensive publication dedicated to this sculptor´s work, an oeuvre which "leads deeply into the political and historical problems of the African continent." The life-sized figures made from fibreglass, wood and clay, and the so-called "found objects" with their clothes, hats and glasses seem astonishingly naturalistic. At the same time, however, this very naturalism is thwarted by most sculptures wearing eye bandages or animal masks, or by their looking into an incomprehensible world with animal eyes - "for the blind and for animals, white and black are not the categories that determine their consciousness. The deformation thus reveals an utopian moment." (Renate Wiehager) (German edition available 3-7757-1189-9) The artist: Jane Alexander, born in 1959 in Johannesburg. Studied Fine Arts at the University of Witwaterstrand, Johannesburg. Various prizes and awards. Numerous exhibitions, among them participation in the 1995 Venice Biennale. Presently, Jane Alexander is a member of the teaching staff at the Michaelis School of Fine Arts in Kapstadt, where she lives and works.Shipping Notes

Nice, but easily chewed apart.
My dog loves it, but needs supervision because he can bit off bits. He's a small dog with little teeth.

JAYU PET Toothbrush Toy Dog Chew
The JAYU PET Toothbrush Toy Dog Chew is pretty cool. I used my toy poodle’s favorite toothpaste and he had a hard time really getting into the grooves. This seems like a good idea and it’s hit or miss with anything like this. My dog loved it more and tried harder when I used peanut butter. I just end up having to clean o it the grooves as he can’t get to it all. Big breeds might do better, but this is cute and could work.

Highly Recommend for Aggressive Chewers!
I recently purchased the JAYU PET Toothbrush Toy Dog Chew Toy, and it has exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for dog chew toys that are both durable and functional, this is a great choice. My dog is an aggressive chewer, and this toy has held up extremely well without breaking or wearing down.
What I love most is how it helps clean my dog’s teeth while chewing. The textured design removes plaque and tartar naturally during playtime. It’s much easier than brushing my dog’s teeth manually, and my dog actually enjoys using it.
This dog dental toy is perfect for small and medium dogs and keeps them busy for long periods, which helps reduce boredom and destructive behavior. It’s sturdy, safe, and clearly designed with dental health in mind.
Overall, this is one of the best dog chew toys I’ve purchased—durable, engaging, and great for maintaining my dog’s oral hygiene. I will definitely be buying another one!

Not for aggressive chewers
My 14 pound puppy chewed a big chunk out within 30 minutes. Would not recommend if you have a dog that likes to tear into things
