Lichtteppich wie bei Auto-Scheinwerfer sorgt für Sicherheit

Das ausgeklügelte Projektionslinsen-System erreicht bei zugleich sehr kompakter Bauform eine Reichweite von 72 Metern, präzise Abblendlinien und eine Sichtbarkeit von 52°. Somit gelingt es trotz der großflächigen Ausleuchtung, entgegenkommende Fahrzeuge nicht zu blenden. Das Licht, welches aus nur einer LED stammt, wird optimal gelenkt, gebrochen und sehr effizient als homogener Lichtteppich auf die Straße verteilt – Streuverluste bleiben auf ein Minimum reduziert. Lange, intensive und temporeiche Fahrten sind mit NACA Road auch bei absoluter Dunkelheit möglich, ohne Einschränkungen bei der Sicherheit. Der häufig bei Nachtfahrten auftretende Tunneleffekt kann aufgrund des äußerst breiten Sichtfelds vermieden werden. Selbst in Kurven ist kaum eine Anpassung des Fahrstils nötig.


Aerodynamik-Design aus der Luftfahrt

Für eine größtmögliche Reduktion des Luftwiderstands, entspricht das Design der aerodynamischen Form des NACA-Tragflächenprofils. Dies führt zu einem branchenführenden Widerstandsbeiwert von nur 0,267. Bei 45 km/h beträgt die durch den Luftwiderstand verbrauchte Energie lediglich 0,48 W. Gleichzeitig sorgt das Aluminiumgehäuse für Haltbarkeit und optimale Wärmeableitung. Die Oberfläche des Linsenkörpers ist für äußere Einwirkung zusätzlich gehärtet und mit einer Antireflexbeschichtung ausgestattet. Das Gesamtgewicht beträgt 163 Gramm.


Getestet bei GCN Flandrien Challenge

Oliver Bridgewood von GCN ist nach Flanders gereist, um sich der Flandrien Challenge zu stellen und zu versuchen, alle 59 Anstiege an einem einzigen Tag zu bewältigen. Um diese legendäre Region Belgiens zu meistern, konnte Ollie mit NACA Road bei Nacht ebenso sicher fahren wie bei Tageslicht – und dank aerodynamischem Design mit minimalem Kraftaufwand. Warum leuchtet NACA Road heller als Produkte anderer Hersteller trotz im Vergleich niedrigerer Lumen-/Lux-Werte?

Lumen ist die Einheit zur Ermittlung des Lichtstroms und gibt Auskunft über das gesamte abgestrahlte Licht, ohne dessen Ausbreitung zu berücksichtigen – z.B. punktuell oder flächig. Lux hingegen definiert die Beleuchtungsstärke an der hellsten Stelle, gemessen senkrecht zur Fahrbahn, in 10 Metern Entfernung. Wie bei Lumen, ist auch mit diesem Wert nicht ersichtlich, wie groß der tatsächlich beleuchtete Bereich erscheint. Je nach Testszenario kann es zu weiteren Abweichungen kommen, sodass sich ein direkter Vergleich von Produkten anhand von Lumen-/Lux-Werten als wenig zielführend herausstellt. 

Unter Realbedingungen leuchtet NACA Road somit heller als andere Scheinwerfer trotz im Vergleich niedrigerer Lumen-/Lux-Werte, da NACA Road dank des fortschrittlichen Linsensystems neue Benchmarks in Distanz und Breite des Lichtteppichs setzt.


Welche Helligkeitsstufen stehen zur Auswahl?

Die Helligkeit kann in vier Stufen eingestellt werden: City, Touring, Sport und Max Power.

 

Wie kann ich NACA Road aufladen und wie lange hält der Akku?

NACA Road wird per USB-C-Kabel geladen (Netzteil oder Powerbank). Eine vollständige Ladung benötigt 2,7 bis 3 Stunden. Der Akku kann gleichzeitig mit der Verwendung des Geräts aufgeladen werden. Je nach eingestellter Stufe, beträgt die Akkulaufzeit mehr als 7 Stunden. 

 

Kann NACA Road bei starkem Regen gefahren werden?

Ja! NACA Road ist staub-/spritzwassergeschützt nach IP66 und kann somit auch bei starkem Regen gefahren werden. Ladevorgänge (während der Fahrt) sollten nicht bei Regen durchgeführt werden, da die USB-C-Ladebuchse nicht mehr durch den Verschluss abgedichtet ist.


Ist eine Halterung im Lieferumfang enthalten?

NACA Road kann mit jeder beliebigen GoPro-Halterung montiert werden, z.B. unterhalb eines Fahrradcomputers (Garmin/Wahoo). Aufgrund unterschiedlicher Bauformen von Cockpits und individuellen Anforderungen, befindet sich keine Halterung im Lieferumfang.

 

Wie kann ich sicherstellen, dass andere Verkehrsteilnehmer nicht geblendet werden?

Auf einer geraden Strecke sollte selbst in der Ferne die Hell-Dunkel-Grenze noch auf der Fahrbahn erkennbar sein. Der Abstrahlwinkel kann an einer GoPro-Halterung frei gewählt werden.

        Comfortable, affordable, and great for small spaces!

        I had previously left a review of two stars, but have since deleted that review after I've owned the chair for a few weeks now. Initially, I stated the chair was uncomfortable and not cushioned at all. But this issue quickly resolved after sitting it for a longer time, it seems the cushion molds to you. So it may be uncomfortable the first few times sitting on it, but it eventually softens. The cushion is now soft yet sturdy. You don't sink in too much, but it's comfortable for sitting for long periods of time. I personally enjoy the mesh back as well, it supports my lower back and doesn't cause back pain. Normally I have to use a cushion of my own to support my lower back for most chairs, but this one actually supports me in a way that doesn't require an extra cushion - so that's really nice. The chair is fairly on the smaller end, which is perfect for low desks or tight spaces, which is exactly what I wanted. The height can be adjusted, but even at the highest setting, it is still fairly low. Keep that in mind - it may not be super comfortable for those over 6 ft. The arms flip up which makes storing it under a low desk very easy. The cushion is thick and very accurate to the picture. I love that it is lightweight and doesn't make much noise when rolling the chair. It also feels very sturdy. Some of the reviews say it feels flimsy, and I don't know if some are just assembling it incorrectly, because for me this thing is very strong and holds up quite nicely under my weight. Overall, this is exactly what I wanted for my personal living space. A chair that's not too bulky, but comfortable enough to sit in for long hours. It functions as advertised for this purpose. One final thing -- the color selection is gorgeous. I bought the light purple color and it fits my setup nicely! Color was accurate to the picture, and looks very cute and adorable in my space.

        Surprisingly amazing chair!

        tl;dr: If you need a chair that has the features of this one, then this one is a winner! Hits above its weight class for sure. My wife is 5’. She’s small. For whatever reason she ended up with a chair made for big people, like 6+ feet and up to 500lbs type of a chair. She’d often even sleep on it and chill on it. The chair was big enough to fit 2 of her to be honest. It was an expensive chair that I won at some raffle and didn’t like myself. Over the years it ripped (got a cover for it) and even started to get lopsided (from the sleeping) and finally a spring broke (hence the pillow on it in the pictures) She obviously lives pink. I also wanted to get a chair where she could work and not end ip asleep on. Not like we have a couch or a bed for that 😂. This chair is very obviously smaller than her previous chair, it’s also significantly cheaper in price and build, it’s also not as durable feeling or stable, and it’s just not as padded. Yet somehow it’s an amazing chair that we both like better than her previous chair??? Like it’s crazy that this chair somehow works better in so many ways. Her desk is modified to be shorter than normal desks (again, she small lol) and her previous chair was just too big. The wheels are also like SUPER smooth, like you can run a chair race easily with it. It rolls over her rug and tucks into her desk (which is in our bedroom) easily. The amount of space this has save us when the chair isn’t being used is a lot. Previous chair was much bigger and didn’t tuck in at all. The color is nice and the padding is plenty for a small and much lighter than 500lbs woman. I’m 6 feet and 200 lbs and the chair is nice for me as well. My chair is bigger and more secure in the backing, which is similar to this one. The lowest tension setting on my chair is still too high for her to lean back on my chair. This chair has a lower tension minimum and she can easily lean back freely, as well as keep enough tension to work without sagging. This chair is surprisingly outstanding! I’m sure my wife will destroy it quicker than the last one, but it’s so cheap that even if it only lasts 1-3 years, I’ll happily buy it ones or twice more 🤷🏽‍♀️. Maybe by then they’ll invent a comfortable titanium chair that’s affordable that she won’t destroy 😂.

        The chair is fine, and reasonably easy to put together. However, I've been using it for a little over a year and a half, and it's already falling apart. Random parts of it have fallen off, which is fine because it was still functional. But now the most frustrating part is that the wheels continue to pop off, and while the first attempts to pop them back on worked, they will not stay on now. This is obviously greatly impacting the stability, and I will need to purchase a replacement soon. For this price and lack of long-term durability, I would not buy again.

        Alexa messed me up, but the company of the chair made it right!

        I wanted something small with arms that moved out of the way when I wanted to slide my chair all the way into my desk for more space. This fit the bill. I loved the color blue and I had that in my cart for a bit. One day Alexa mentioned that an item that was in my cart was on sale. It was the chair. I let it be ordered. When it came it didn't exactly look blue to me. But I kept putting it together thinking maybe it was the lighting in the room I was assembling it in. I brought it to my craft room and lo and behold it is light purple. I looked at my order and sure enough it said light purple. Boo! I looked in my saved cart and the chair was gone. So I accepted it for an error. The next day I checked to see if I could return it. Thought I could, till I read that I would have to pay to return it. So I wrote the seller to tell them to ignore the return. And that was that. Till a couple days later I get an email from the seller asking if I would like a full refund or a replacement at no cost. I was like heck yeah send me the blue one. I was thrilled and I wanted to thank the seller for doing this without the return of the other chair. But I could not find a place to do that now. So here is where I will thank you. Thank you so much for doing this for me. You guys are AWESOME!. I love the chair and I love the blue color. I find it very comfortable, lite, easy to adjust, the size works great for me, and for the price the quality fits my needs. I do hope it lasts me for quite some time. Thanks again!
