So werden in Spielen, Filmen, Clips und im Internet neue zeitgemäße Formen erprobt, mit der Endlichkeit des Lebens umzugehen. Auch Künstlerinnen und Künstler sowie jugendliche Subkulturen setzen sich intensiver mit dem eigenen und dem Tod der anderen auseinander, als dies in den übrigen sozialen Systemen üblich ist.Die Publikation zeigt die Kommunikationsstrategien der vernetzten Welt, die unbemerkt von der breiten Öffentlichkeit längst ihre neuen Todesrituale entwickelt hat. Sie präsentiert thematisch angeordnet Arbeiten und Objekte in einem exklusiven Mix aus Kunst, Popkultur und Alltagsmedien wie Internet und Werbung und macht damit die verschiedenen Facetten sichtbar, aus denen sich das Bild vom Tod in der Gegenwart zusammensetzt.
